Purchaser / Sales Rep (Marine)

Job Description  

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer with minimum sales experience to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our Marine business. His responsibilities will include, receiving inquiries from our Marine Clients, locating & negotiating with suppliers, issuing & processing purchase orders, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and liaising with operations team to deliver the required items to clients. The buyer /Sales Rep will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on client’s demand.

The Buyer / Sales Rep should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to customer’s requirements. Minimum knowledge of sales and marketing principles is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
  • Build relationships with clients & suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
  • Receive Customers inquiries & Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
  • Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
  • Arrange transport of goods to clients and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
  • Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.
  • Assess quality of products received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (Supply Chain Emphasis is Recommended).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Marine operations is preferred.
  • Territory Location is Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in appropriate software (ERP)
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Marine Agency Coordinator  

Job Description  

We are seeking a Marine Coordinator, who will manage the entire shipping portfolio involving chartering, operations, vetting and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Marine manager, the coordinator will provide seamless support by overseeing both the commercial and operational aspects of the marine transportation business, with a key emphasis in supporting the development of the strategies and helping to drive the success of our marine operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise on marine technical and commercial matters, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations of shipments of oil, products, and equipment.
  • Coordinate the safe and economical marine transportation for both domestic and international trades.
  • Liaise with marine terminals, port authorities, refineries, regional supply offices, ship owners, agents, surveyors, and expeditors on all matters related to marine movements.
  • Administer affreightment contracts for the Marine manager.
  • Stay informed of operational matters with clients and suppliers and provide updates.
  • Prepare a weekly schedule for all movements under his responsibility.
  • Input cost and cargo data relevant to movements into the marine system.
  • Build and maintain individual voyage files for each movement.
  • Guarantee proper inspection services are available for each voyage.
  • Verify relevant invoices for movements and approve as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Marine agency experience is required.
  • Territory location is the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
  • Master Mariner with experience of tanker operations is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in appropriate software (ERP).
  • Thorough knowledge of day-to-day tanker and cargo operations.
  • Knowledge of post-fixture work, including nomination, demurrage, and invoicing.
  • Thorough knowledge of standard oil company charter parties, clauses, and terminology.
  • Effective and strong leadership with a continuous improvement mindset
